Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At American Structurepoint, treating all people with respect and being socially responsible is consistent with our values, mission, and vision for our company. One of our most important core values is respect, specifically, to treat all people with respect, fairness, and dignity. American Structurepoint is committed to providing an inclusive culture for our people. We strive to create an environment where everyone can share their opinion and perspective and be treated fairly and equitably.

"American Structurepoint was founded with the core value of treating everyone with respect, fairness, and dignity, and our company culture provides employees with a place where they can be themselves, share their opinions, and know they are welcomed and celebrated."

Building and Retaining a Unique Workforce

American Structurepoint is committed to building a diverse workforce, and that includes attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining people from various backgrounds. One example of this is our partnership with DREAM Alive, a non-profit agency based in Indianapolis, Indiana, that specializes in educating at-risk youth from underrepresented populations and exposing them to important career paths. Through our partnership with DREAM Alive, we employ and mentor teenagers from diverse cultures and backgrounds and offer them real-world professional experience.

"American Structurepoint is making a great difference in our city and communities. Thank you for investing in our scholars."

Expanding Our Understanding

In addition to employing and building a diverse team of talent, we foster an environment where employees can share their unique experiences. We understand that in order to maintain our family-oriented culture, we need to understand each other. While promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion is led by our executives, we are fortunate to have numerous employee advisers/volunteers who help inform and advise our leadership team about our practices as they relate to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We look for new education and training initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

"American Structurepoint’s values are embedded in everything we do. I have been given opportunities to learn and discover my purpose in my career while also being encouraged to continue my passion of supporting women in the transportation field through WTS."

Enriching Our Community

Community service is consistent with American Structurepoint’s mission of improving the quality of life for the people and the communities we serve. We take our efforts to be socially responsible seriously, and our actions speak louder than our words. One of the unique aspects of our efforts to enrich communities across the nation is to encourage our own employees to inform our efforts. Based on input from employees, our Community Service Committee seeks out volunteer opportunities where we take a hands-on approach to help people, including underrepresented populations. When it comes to community service, we do it, inform it, and celebrate it, together. Over the past 55 years, American Structurepoint has helped thousands of people, including those shown below.

Project Lead The Way (PLTW)

American Structurepoint has partnered with PLTW to develop in-demand science, technology, engineering, and mathematical skills in Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS). Our goal is that this results-oriented STEM curriculum will lead to higher graduation rates in IPS, more students seeking higher education, and ultimately, many of these students pursuing STEM-related careers here in Indianapolis.

Habitat for Humanity

American Structurepoint has participated in panel builds and home builds for Habitat for Humanity, a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states and approximately 70 countries.

Thirst Project

Since 2012, American Structurepoint has supported the Thirst Project, the world’s largest youth water organization providing access to safe, clean drinking water for more than 500,000 people.

ACE Mentor Program of America

American Structurepoint has supported the Indy chapter of ACE (architecture, construction, and engineering) since 2005, providing monetary donations and mentors who work with students from area high schools to encourage them to pursue careers in the industry.

Giving back to the community is important for our employees. We serve our community via our projects but also as individuals.
