Benjamin Borcherding, PE

As chief operating officer, Ben is responsible for ensuring the firm’s profitability and strategic, sustainable growth throughout the country, driving key company performance indicators, and monitoring and adjusting various production units for maximum efficiency. He also is to assure that all American Structurepoint’s processes and systems operate efficiently.

Prior to becoming COO, Ben was the executive responsible for the leadership of our companywide Transportation design practice that includes our Road, Bridge, Environmental Services, and Traffic groups. He provided the executive-level leadership to our design center operational effectiveness initiative to ensure our national services perform efficiently. Ben also focused on overall sales, staff management, and growth initiatives for the companywide Transportation Group.

Ben has more than 19 years of experience in management and design of transportation projects with an emphasis in bridge rehabilitation and new and replacement bridge design projects for local, state, and federal agencies. Ben's project management and design experience also include multiple alternative delivery P3 and design-build projects throughout the country.

Ben is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Structural Engineers Institute. He also serves on both the ASCE/INDOT Structural Committee, tasked with developing policy and standards for the Indiana Department of Transportation, as well as the American Council of Engineering Companies INDOT Committee.

In 2018, Ben was named a finalist for Indy's Best and Brightest.
