American Structurepoint Staff Appointed To Prestigious State Boards

American Structurepoint is pleased to announce that Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has appointed Vice President Ed Kagel, PE, and Ohio Civil Engineering Group Leader Ben Miller, PE, to prestigious state boards.

Kagel has been appointed to the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. His term began November 8 and will extend through September 24, 2029. Miller has been appointed to the Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Release Compensation Board. His term also began on November 8, 2024, and extends through July 10, 2026. Both individuals will be responsible for advising on public policy and making decisions related to the management of state resources.

Ed Kagel joined American Structurepoint in 2019 as regional services director to establish the firm’s Cleveland design center. In 2020, he was promoted to principal of Cleveland operations and then promoted to vice president in 2023. Kagel has 28 years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects in the transportation, utility infrastructure, and construction solutions sectors. His specialized experience includes transportation studies, final design, safety improvements, and utility solutions.

Ben Miller has 18 years of extensive civil engineering and site development experience in the public and private sectors. He joined American Structurepoint in 2016 and has advanced from project manager to senior project manager, and Ohio civil team leader. In November 2022, Miller was promoted to lead the Ohio Civil Engineering Group where he is currently the group leader. In addition, Miller’s expertise includes master planning of large commercial site developments, construction administration, and regulatory coordination and permitting.
