South Market Street through historic downtown Rockville, Indiana, is now open to traffic. The improved road has been reconstructed to promote safer modes of travel for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists.

In addition to reconstructing the road, improvements include bike lanes, decorative lighting, improved sidewalks, and replacing brick along the westside of the courthouse square. American Structurepoint provided roadway engineering, water and sanitary sewer design, utility coordination, environmental services, and construction inspection for the project.

"We hope this project will also benefit residents and visitors for decades to come as we created a safer environment for all modes of travel.”- American Structurepoint Project Manager Ken Olson

“As we prepare to welcome thousands to our town for the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival, we are excited to showcase this improved road that will enhance our community,” said Rockville Town Council President Dave Brown. “We appreciate American Structurepoint’s commitment to this project that will improve safety and pedestrian accessibility through our downtown.”

In addition to engineering services, American Structurepoint helped the Town of Rockville obtain $4.5 million in federal funding for the project through the INDOT LPA program.

“Our mission at American Structurepoint is to improve the quality of life for the people and communities we serve,” said Project Manager Ken Olson. “We have been fortunate to work with the Town of Rockville on the Howard and Market project to the north and hope this project will also benefit residents and visitors for decades to come as we created a safer environment for all modes of travel.”

The project also includes construction of ADA-compliant curb ramps, a new storm sewer system, roadway lighting, water and sanitary sewer improvements, and pedestrian amenities including benches, trash containers, and bicycle racks.
