“Transportation engineers are in great need,” Borcherding said. “The latest stats show that more than 40% of the nation’s roads are in poor or mediocre condition. The US has more than 4 million miles of public roads and 617,000 bridges that need repair, and we’re currently seeing a lot of investment in improving our roads and bridges,” Borcherding said.
