Milan Army Reserve Center Renovation
Milan, Ohio
This design-build project renovated approximately 13,000-sft of an existing training building and an approximate 4,300-sft organizational maintenance shop. American Structurepoint led the design team, providing architecture, civil engineering, structural engineering, land surveying, and environmental services. The project was contracted through the USACE Louisville District.
The project also required a small 710-sft addition to the organizational maintenance shop. Repairs to the facilities included extensive refurbishing of the HVAC systems, mechanical systems, security systems, electrical systems and all interior spaces. Physical security measures were incorporated into design, including entry control points, maximum standoff distance from roads, parking areas, and vehicle unloading areas. Berms, heavy landscaping, and bollards were used to prevent access when standoff distances could not be maintained. Additional structural reinforcing was added to the window along with blast-resistant glazing.
