Eagledale Senior Apartments rises from former Flackville School No. 100

American Structurepoint is proud to have worked with TWG Development and the City of Indianapolis to provide architectural design services for converting the former Flackville School No. 100 into the recently opened Eagledale Senior Apartments.

The 65-unit development at 2930 Lafayette Road provides affordable senior living options in the historic Venerable Flackville neighborhood. Our design merges all the modern amenities of a new apartment building with the rich history of the former school. Amenities include a community room, craft room, bike hub, and an exercise room designed specifically for seniors. Building system designs include green standards of NGBS Gold and HERS < 50, which includes a solar array to offset energy usage.

American Structurepoint also provided interior design, structural, and civil engineering services for the project. Our architects began design work in April 2015. At that point, Flackville School No. 100 had sat vacant for 30 years and weathered structural hardships. Through a step-by-step process, our architects worked with TWG Development and TWG Construction to design studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units for the renovated building and for two additions to the existing building. We also sought input from the Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission and the Indiana Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology to design an updated building exterior sensitive to the building’s rich history and that integrates well with the existing building shell.

Eagledale Senior Apartments are now available for tours and leasing. Interested individuals may visit the property Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
