Jefferson County Courthouse Restoration
Madison, Indiana
This investigative engineering project included damage assessment and repair design following a fire that destroyed the roof and portions of the third floor of a 150-year-old historic courthouse building. Repair design included complete reconstruction of the wood roof framing and trusses, as well as replacement roofing, cornice and dentil molding, and partial reconstruction of load-bearing masonry walls. Repairs to interior wood framing and load bearing masonry below the roof line were also required to address water damage and other deterioration related to the fire.
